Size
Size matters. You don’t want to use the best 19.5 RV tire when your Class A motorhome requires a different sized tire. Nor would you want to use a Class B Sprinter-sized tire or even a fifth wheel trailer tire on your motor carriage if it is the wrong size. Get the right tire size. The sidewall notates your tire size.
When looking at a tire, there are a series of letters and numbers on the sidewall. It lists the tire type, tire width, aspect ratio, construction, wheel diameter, load index, speed rating.
Price
Good 22.5 RV tires may cost more than expected. A set of good Toyo or Michelin tires, for example, are worth the money. A safe journey is always important.
Proper inflation
Most times tire pressure is not checked regularly. I am guilty of this, too. Tire pressure is critical to a long-lasting durable tire on a motorhome.
At the wrong pressure, a tire may overheat and a blowout may occur. This is not a good experience. It happened to me a few weeks ago.
My teardrop trailer has a 5.30-12 inch tire rated at a Load C. It was underinflated on an interstate trip I did. The tire heated up to a critical level. It popped going down the road.
